Lunch - Baked eggs in ham

Snack - Iced latte

Dinner - Turkey Kebabs

Dessert - Chocolate frozen yougart

Snack - Atkins bread with cheese spread

Day 7 of Cruise P&V

Sorry going to be a very short blog today as I am knackered!

Breakfast - Dukan chocolate cereal bar

Lunch - Big salad! Lettuce, cucumber, plum tomatoes, gherkin, pickled onions, beetroot, cottage cheese, roast chicken and a yougart dressing.

Dinner - Spaghetti Bolegnaise ( Without the spaghetti!) :-)

Dessert - Yougart

Snack - carrot sticks, plum tomatoes and cucumber with teaspoon of Philadelphia extra light to dip them in.

Today I have drunk several glasses of water and Ice as it has been soooo hot!!!!!

Iced Vanilla Latte

Shot of instant coffee ( Made however strong you want!)
1/2 pint of skimmed milk
sweetener to taste
teaspoon of vanilla flavoring
Crushed Ice cubes

Add your shot of coffee to the cold milk, add your sweetener and vanilla, whisk on high with an electric whisk to your required frothyness!

Serve on the rocks and enjoy! 

Day 6 of Cruise

So today has been a bit hectic!! A 10 minute car journey took me 1hr 15 minutes thanks to Olly Murrs!!! He's in concert near by and I must be the only person not interested in going! I also weighed myself today, I don't weigh every day as I don't have bathroom scales so I weigh myself at my Grandads every Sunday, and guess how much I have lost since last Sunday?! 6LBS!!!!!!!!! OMG I couldn't believe it! I seem to be losing most of it from my top half, so fingers crossed next week I see a different in my tum and bum!! So in just under a fortnight I have lost  in total 13lbs!! Hope it carry's on like this although I expect the weight lose will start to slow down, so what was today menu?......

Breakfast - Dukan chocolate cereal bar

Lunch - Ham and cottage cheese followed by some frozen yougart drops

Dinner - Cold ham, Cold roast chicken, 2 poached eggs, 2 gerkins, 3 pickled oinions and tea spoon of Philadelphia extra light.

Desert - More frozen yougart drops!

Evening treat - Iced vanilla latte

Dukan Chocolate Cereal Bars


4 servin
- 8 tbsp oat bran
- 7 tbsp skimmed milk
- 6 tbsp Canderel granules
- 3 tbsp water
- 2 tsp vanilla flavouring
- 4 tsp sugar-free fat-reduced cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp fat-free fromage frais
1 In a small bowl, combine the oat bran with 4 tbsp of skimmed milk, 3 tbsp of the Canderel, 2 tbsp of the water and the vanilla flavouring. Mix everything together so that you get a smooth, compact paste.
2 Line a rectangular plastic container with clingfilm. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the bottom and freeze for at least half an hour.
3 In another bowl, combine the cocoa powder with the remaining 3 tbsp skimmed milk and 3 tbsp Canderel and the fromage frais. If necessary, add the remaining tbsp of water to get a semi-liquid cream.
4 Pour this cream over the oat bran and return to the freezer for at least 1 hour until it becomes hard.
5 Turn out of the container and cut into four bars. Store the bars in the fridge.

So now i'm on cruising I am also allowed 2 foods of the tolerated foods list. One of the Tolerated foods is coco powder! Which is a godsend at times as I do have a very sweet tooth. So for breakfast I had a Chocolate Oatbran cereal bar, they are to die for!!

Breakfast - Chocolate Oatbran Cereal bar ( I will post a separate post with the recipe) 

Snack - Natural yougart sweetened with sweetener and vanilla.

Lunch - So we went swimming today with the kids and we usually go out for lunch afterwards, so today we decided to go to subway where I ordered a turkey and ham salad. I did also have ranch sauce on it which is one of there low fat sauces, may not be strictly dukan approved but i'm sure it won't be do no harm.

Dinner - Roast Chicken ( Skin removed) roasted parsnips and carrots. Cabbage and broccoli. 

Desert - Sugar free strawberry jelly. 

I also tried making dukan bread today, the recipe did say to add wheat bran but I didn't have any and the man at Tesco's looked at me very strangely when I asked him where I may find! So I left it out and the bread tasted yuck! Not sure if it would be different with the wheat bran, so if anyone has tried it before please let me know!  


Dukan Diet

I thought I would share about a diet I have started doing, many have probably already heard of it the Dukan Diet you can find out more info about it here. In short the Diet is a 4 phase plan and is a high protein and low carbs diet there is a list of 100 foods that you may eat from. 

 Phase 1 is "Attack" 

In Attack you may eat only protein and 1.5 tablespoons of Oat bran, when I first read this I won't lie to you, I though nooooo way can I stick to that! On the dukan website you can find out your "true weight" for free and it will tell you how many days attack you should do and when you should be down to your true weight. I was told to do attack for 7 days and that my true weight can be achieved by February. The found the first 3 days of attack not great, it made me feel really tired, I then read that I should had been taking multivitamins, so I got some and felt a lot less tired! After the first 3 days it was fine, I wasn't feeling hungry and the best thing about this diet is that you can eat as much as you want so long as its on the dukan approved list of foods. So Oat bran, in all honestly I had no idea how you ate or what you did with it, so after doing some googling I found one of the most popular ways to eat it was in a dukan pancake! So that's what I had the first night on attack, Dukan pancake, steak and 2 fried eggs! ( Dosent sound like diet food does it?!) You can find the link to the pancakes here

After my attack phase I had lost 7lbs! 

Phase 2 is "Cruise" You stay in Cruise stage till reach your ideal weight. The best thing about cruise is that you get to eat veggies again!! I can tell you after 7 days of eating nothing but protein, I have never been so excited to eat lettuce!!! So you alternate days between Protein and veggies and Pure Protein. I have done 5 days of cruise so far but from now on will be using this blog as a food diary and to track the weight I have lost.
